Stay Hydrated This Easter!
Whether you are young or old, Easter is the time of year when many of us throw caution to the wind and get stuck into far too many delicious chocolate eggs. After all, it is tradition and that word can cover a multitude of sins!
Impossible to say no?
Easter is a lovely time to get together with family and friends and who doesn't love a bit of chocolate every now and then? The shops certainly make it hard to say no to the myriad of gorgeous looking Easter eggs and bunnies that have been displayed at least a month before the main event. But remember to stay nice and hydrated throughout the 4 day break and do try to restrict your chocolate intake a little if at all possible. For those with young children, abstaining from Easter eggs can be particularly difficult because joining in is all part of the fun.
After the event
So if Easter has come and gone and you are feeling the effects of tucking into too many eggs or bunnies, it is a great idea to change your diet if only for a few days. Try to avoid sugary food and stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables. With regards to your water intake over the week or so after Easter, here is a pretty good guide that has been tested thoroughly:
- Try to drink half a litre for every 23 kilograms of body weight
- If this seems a little excessive, try to start slowly and always keep a bottle with you throughout the day
- Take a few long walks in order to charge your lungs with fresh air but remember to take a few gulps of water when you start to warm up.
- Why not download our drink alarm app and get reminded when you need to drink a glass of fresh filtered water.
