Ten steps to sanitising your bottled water cooler...
In order to keep your bottled water cooler in tip-top condition it is recommended that you sanitise it every 6 months. This will ensure that your water is being properly filtered and will keep your water tasting great.
It is a simple process that you will be able to do yourself using these 10 easy steps:
- Remove the empty bottle from the cooler
- Remove the Spike Housing (the piece of plastic that the bottle sits on) and the separator (the disc that separates the cold and ambient water) and you will then see the tank
- Using your sanitiser bottle (you can buy it here if you need some!) poor 20ml into the tank
- Leave the machine for 10 minutes
- While you’re waiting give the machine a wipe with the sanitiser wipes, paying particular attention to the taps
- Grab a bucket and drain the water tank by turning the taps on
- If you have a hot machine turn off the red hot switch and then drain the water through your hot tank drain (normally located at the base or back of your machine)
- Replace the Spike Housing and the separator and place a full bottle on the machine
- Leave the machine for 5 minutes until the tank fills up and then put a bottle on the machine
- Flush half a bucket of water through the machine’s taps to ensure all of the sanitisation fluid is removed.
