What is National Tea Day?
Held on 21st April every year, National Tea Day is the official day in the UK to celebrate our love of tea. This year marks National Tea Day’s 6th anniversary. Let’s share the benefits of sharing a cup of tea with friends or family and talking about whatever is on your mind! This year #nationalteaday supports Mind, the UK’s leading mental health charity.
In Britain, we drink 165 million cups of tea a day, in normal times, compared to 95 million cups of coffee! But during the three lockdowns and isolation research shows this has near doubled! Despite that, the British are only the third most prolific tea drinkers, behind Turkey and Ireland can you believe! Drinking 3 to 4 cups of tea a day generally doesn’t cause any adverse health effects, as long as it’s without sugar!
